15.48 MWh On-Grid DC Coupled Energy Storage System
Project Statements
Total Energy: 15.48 MWh On-Grid DC Coupled Energy Storage System
Project background: Japan FIT (Feed-in-Tariff) Scheme
Location: Kyushu Island, Japan
Solution: 215 kWh*72 units DC energy storage system in total, each configured 860 kWh;
Model: DL-HV100215 DC energy storage system designed for commercial and industrial applications.

Application Scenario
The Energy Storage System (ESS) for this project is designed to maximize PV utilization.
During the day, the PV modules supply power to the grid and store surplus energy in the ESS.
When PV output is insufficient, the ESS discharges into the grid to supplement the power supply.
When PV output drops to zero, the system switches entirely to the ESS for power supply.

Each Site
Each site configuration: 4* 215 kWh DC energy storage system; 1*PCS; 1* DCDC cabinet and system;
Cells: 3.2V 280Ah cell, 1P240S, Grade A cell;
Cooling method: Liquid cooling;
Fire Safety: Aerosol Fire Suppression Devices, qualified with Japanese fire protection standards;
Solution

Client Benefits
1. High-efficiency DC-coupled Solution
The PV is prioritized to feed power to the grid through the DCDC, and excess power is charged to the
battery.
There is no need to set up additional PV inverters, which avoids multiple conversions from DC to
AC and back to DC.
2. Cost Saving
Reduction in initial investment on equipment such as PV inverters.
Fewer energy conversion stages also mean lower maintenance costs.
Client Benefits
3. Flexibility for System Enlargement in the future
DC-coupled systems offer flexibility in configuring the capacity of battery energy storage systems, allowing for independent expansion based on actual needs in the future
